I sense a diabetic in the house. (Let’s pretend that it isn’t me.)

Moment of truth, guys. Do you find test strips all over your house? I know I do.

The test strip didn’t quite make it into the trash can.

In the garage? You’ve got to be kidding me.

By the TV remote. This just gets weirder and weirder.

I think our friend the test strip is browsing online for different blood types.

My family and I went to visit my grandfather in Delaware. And he was getting annoyed because he kept finding random test strips all over the house. So before we left my dad and I decided to hide them all over the house in deliberate locations.

The toaster really confused him.

I really would have liked to see his face.

If you want to confuse your grandparents, this is how to do it.

Places not photographed include under the glass of his coffee table. I would pay to get a picture of when he discovered that one.

Where do you find your test strips? Comment to let me know!

  2. What? A prankster!

I love that you’ve used humor to help you manage (and keep an good attitude) about such a bummer disease. You’re an inspiration.

I’d be totally curious to hear how other type 1 diabetes folks deal with their mountains of diabetic trash.

    : )

    Nice blog. Thanks.

  3. Very funny Claire! I’ve seen other weird places that your test strips show up: glove box of car; out in the middle of the street in front of our house; in your bedding; in the dryer. I could go on and on.

  4. Ah, Claire. A chip off the old block, I see. Your poor grandfather doesn’t have a chance with the two of you ganging up on him!

    Seriously funny, though!

  5. Those are all funny places that test strips can pop up. I cant believe your mom says they showed up in the dryer though… too funny.
